Introducing our latest Puppingtons design
The Benjamin Harness
Puppingtons Benjamin harnesses have the following features:
- A padded but lightweight Y front design
- Lightweight and cool
- Front and Back lead connection points (please see notes below)
- Buckles on the front and the back making this harness perfect for dogs that do not like harnesses going over their heads
- 6 points of adjustment
Y front harnesses explained
Unlike our other harnesses the Benjamin harness has a Y shaped front (the front strap goes between the dogs legs and not across the dogs chest) making the chance of restriction across the chest and shoulders less than other types of harness. This makes the Puppingtons Benjamin harness a comfortable choice for your dog.
The fact that this harness has minimal restriction across the shoulders makes this harness more suitable if you wish to hike or jog or do dog sports like tracking or scent work with your dog. It is an awesome harness if you wish to mainly connect your lead to the connection on the dogs back.
The downside of front connection Y front harnesses (in my opinion) is that if you connect the lead to the front connection the strap that goes between the dogs front legs can pull to one side if the dog pulls for this reason I would recommend only using the front connection when loose lead walking or for short durations like crossing roads before switching to the back connection again.
Our Barney and Leonardo harnesses combined with a double ended harness lead are more suitable when combating pulling issues.

Is the Benjamin harness right for my dog ??
If you are looking for a comfortable Y front design harness for everyday walks or treks through the forests where you attach your lead mainly to the dogs back then yes this harness is the perfect option
If you need a harness to help control your dogs pulling then I would suggest you look at the Puppingtons Barney or Leonardo harness as they are designed with pulling dogs in mind.
